Stunning scenery and unlimited mountain recreation make the Blue Ridge Parkway one of the most popular destinations of the entire National Park system. The Blue Ridge Parkway, "America's Favorite Drive," winds its way 469 miles along these famous scenic ridgelines and provides visitors, vacationers and residents extraordinary access to North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains, national forests, historic treasures and virtually unlimited mountain recreation. Cielo Falls sits right off mile marker 268 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Building the Parkway through mountainous terrain was a monumental task. Authorized in the 1930s as a public works project, the Parkway was more than 50 years in the making. It was the nation's first and longest rural parkway, connecting Shenandoah National Park in Virginia with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. Enduring standards for Parkway engineering and design were pioneered here. For Cielo Falls' owners it's the scenic road to everywhere: The Blue Ridge Parkway truly showcases the extraordinary offerings available to our owners at Cielo Falls.
